Samora for LinkedIn: privacy
Last updated 21 October 2026. Applies to version 1.10 and later.
What the plugin is for
Samora for LinkedIn runs the LinkedIn side of SAMpaigns that you or your team set up in SamoraOS: visiting a profile, sending an invitation with a note, and sending a message once someone accepts. On a profile you open, it shows whether the person is in your SAMpaigns, a read of how to approach them, and their phone and email if you ask for them. It only works for people who are signed in to a SamoraOS workspace.
What it reads
- LinkedIn profiles you open, or that your SAMpaign asks it to open: the person's name, headline, company, location, profile address, connection degree, follower count and mutual connections, and the text of their About, Experience, Education, Skills and recent activity sections. This matches them to your SamoraOS records and lets SamoraOS write its read of how to approach them.
- Your connections list and your Messaging list, when you press "Check now", when the side panel opens, after a batch of steps, and about once an hour in your working hours: profile addresses, the names on conversations whose last message is theirs, the first line of that message and the conversation's address, so it can tell SamoraOS who accepted and who replied. For people in your SAMpaigns, that first line is saved in your organisation's SamoraOS workspace so SAM can show you the reply and write your answer. For anyone else it is not kept.
- A conversation, when you ask: when you press "Let SAM reply", the plugin opens that person's conversation and reads its recent messages, so SAM can write your answer. They are saved in your organisation's workspace with the reply, so you can also answer from SamoraOS. Nothing is typed until you press Send.
- Your Sent invitations page, at the same moments: only two numbers, how many invitations went out in the last 7 days and how many are still pending. Names on that page are not read or sent.
- Your My Premium page, about once a week: only which plan LinkedIn shows (Free, Premium, Sales Navigator or Recruiter Lite), so your limits match your plan.
- Your own LinkedIn name, shown in the plugin so you can see which account it runs on.
- On SamoraOS pages only: a one-time pairing code that the signed-in app hands to the plugin.
It does not read other websites, your browsing history, passwords, or anything on LinkedIn outside the pages above.
How to approach someone
When you ask for it, or automatically for people already in your SamoraOS records, the profile text above is sent to your SamoraOS workspace, which asks the AI provider your organisation has set up (Google Gemini) to write a short read: their likely communication style, what to do and avoid, and an opener in their style. It is written only from what the person published on LinkedIn and what your organisation already holds. Personal characteristics such as health, religion, politics, family or relationships are never inferred and are removed if they appear. The read is kept in your organisation's workspace so the next look is instant. Samora does not use it to train AI models.
For people in your SAMpaigns, the read also lists the facts it rests on (for example their current role, a recent post or a mutual connection) and notes when someone does not look like a buyer, for example when their profile says they are open to work. Notes and messages SAM writes for them use only those facts, and a person flagged this way is held until you decide. Nothing is sent to them because of the read alone.
Phone and email, only on a click
Nothing is looked up until you press "Reveal phone and email". Then your SamoraOS workspace checks your organisation's own records first, and if needed asks Lusha or Apollo, using your organisation's own account with them, by the person's LinkedIn address. What is found is shown to you, saved for your organisation so a colleague does not pay for the same person again, and added to the SAMpaign contact if you add them. Numbers on a do-not-call list are marked and cannot be dialled from the plugin. Your organisation's admin sets how many paid look-ups each person may make a day.
What you tell it
- Your LinkedIn plan, if you choose it yourself, which sets your daily and weekly limits and the length of invitation notes.
- A one tap label on a LinkedIn reply (Interested, Not now or Not interested), which counts in your SAMpaign results.
- Your answer to a reply, written with SAM in the plugin or in SamoraOS. An answer sent from SamoraOS waits in your queue until the plugin sends it in that person's conversation.
- The order of your steps, if you drag them or press Next.
What it stores and where
A device token that connects this Chrome to your SamoraOS account, your settings, and a short list of recent actions are kept in Chrome's storage on your computer. The people, notes, messages, reads, revealed contact details and results are kept in your organisation's SamoraOS workspace, the same place as your SAMpaigns. They are not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for anything other than running and reporting on your outreach.
The use of information received through this extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is sent only over HTTPS and only to your SamoraOS workspace. From there it reaches Google Gemini, Lusha or Apollo only for the purposes above, under your organisation's own accounts with them.
What it sends on LinkedIn
In Co-pilot, invitations and messages go out only when you press Enter or LinkedIn's Send button. In Autopilot, which you switch on yourself after confirming the risk, the plugin presses Send for you at a human pace, within your working hours and daily limits. LinkedIn's terms do not allow automated sending, so using Autopilot is your decision about your own account.
If Samora switches LinkedIn Automation off
LinkedIn Automation is an add-on. If it is off for your organisation, the plugin shows a locked screen and reads nothing on LinkedIn until it is switched back on.
Removing your data
Disconnect the plugin from its Settings, or remove it from Chrome, and its local data is deleted. To delete records held in SamoraOS, including a read or revealed contact details about a person, ask your organisation's SamoraOS admin or write to vasu@samoraglobal.com. The full Samora privacy policy is at samoraglobal.com/privacy.
